Happy birthday, sweetie.

You're growing up so fast. It feels like only yesterday I was holding a little miracle in my arms. You're not so little any more, that's for certain, but you'll always be my miracle. You're doing amazing things at school -- Merlin knows how you got to be so good at Arithmancy and Astronomy, I blame your gran for that one. But even more importantly, I read about how hard you've been working to support the other people during this contest business, and how much effort you've put in to working with potential allies at Hogwarts, and you make me so damn proud. I know it takes a special kind of bravery for you to put yourself out there like you have been this past year or so, and it can be hard when so many of the people you're working with are older, but you're holding your own.

Your notes and your brother's owls never fail to put a smile on my face. They keep me going. You've got a good soul, and your mother's heart. Keep up all the good work.

Every time I read what you and mum have written, I get all red in the face and can't stop smiling. Thank you.

I've had such a lovely day so far. Gran sent along a silver locket that I think was mum's, it's very pretty. And Kitty and Artie chipped in together to get me a compass, and Paula and Katrina Fitzgibbon got me a selection of tea from the girls, and Nev got me all sorts of sweet little odds and ends and it's been so very nice.

And you make me proud too. Every day.

(Thank you, Colin, for all that you've done for dad. I appreciate it so very much, and I know he does too. I would miss talking to him if you weren't there to help. And without you, he'd be stuck at Moddey, and he'd be just miserable.
